Broomhill house in Bank Avenue was a large house of 10 rooms. It is now split.
George Torrance Samson the third Provost of Cumnock lived there from at least 1881 until his death in 1894.
He died unexpectedly on 23 April 1894 between 4am and 6.45am at the age of 53 caused by a fall downstairs at his home at Broomhill, Cumnock.
Andrew Gilchrist hotel keeper lived there in the 1921 census. It had 10 rooms and five people living there including one servant
Paton family 1928-1944
Andrew Paton, butcher and JP died there in 1928.
His daughter Jeanie Paton, a school teacher, was living there in 1944 when she died in a nursing home in Glasgow.
